Pathway 2

Functional Learning and Life Skills Pathway

Pathway 2 is designed to ensure cumulative progress from foundation skills to functional independence.

In Key Stage 3, learners strengthen communication and literacy/numeracy through experiential, practical tasks.

In Key Stage 4, they apply these skills through community participation, and targeted accreditation that demonstrates functional competence.

In Key Stage 5, learning is embedded in Preparation for Adulthood experiences- travel training, money management, volunteering, and supported work experience- underpinned by transition planning.

Sequencing ensures that each stage promotes higher levels of confidence, autonomy, and self-advocacy.
