Important dates in January 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
Take a look below to see events and activities coming up for our pupils in January and February 2026.
Throughout term time we run parents and carers coffee mornings, craft mornings, choir practice and yoga. We hope to see you there.
We look forward to welcoming our students back to school after the Christmas holidays on Monday 5th January 2026.

Events for Students
Event: NSPCC Number Day
Date: Friday 6th February
About: Number Day is the NSPCC’s mega maths fundraising event. Every year, thousands of schools and nurseries across the UK fundraise for the NSPCC by having fun with maths and we will be one of them.
We will take part in numerical games and activities and have the opportunity to Dress Up for Digits – dressing up as a number! This could include wearing sports clothing with a number on or getting creative to make your own number costume!

Event: Children’s Mental Health Week & Sunshine Day
Date: Monday 9th to Friday 13th February
About: Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, is running nationally from February 9th to February 15th, 2026. This years’ theme is ‘This is my place’. It is focusing on a sense of belonging for young people.
Sunshine Day falls on Wednesday 11th and it coincides with Children’s Mental Health Week so we will be focusing on the theme ‘This is my place’.
On Friday 13th we will be having a wellbeing assembly and Kooth are coming in to give a 5-minute talk to students during assembly.

Event: Internet Safety Day
Date: Tuesday 10th February
About: We will be taking part in the national Internet Safety Day thinking about making safe choices using smart technology such as voice assistants and AI. We will be learning about how smart technology can be used to help us in our daily life but also thinking about the dangers of misuse including fake AI imagery.

Events for Parents & Carers
Event: Selce visiting CPA
Date: Monday 26th January
Time: TBC
About: Michael Ochser, Outreach Officer (Energy Advice) at Selce will be coming to school to talk to parents & carers about their services and what they can offer people. He will talk about carbon monoxide and having gas in a property, the priority services register, smart meter awareness, keeping heat in the home and more. He will answer any questions you might have.

Event: Greenwich Carer Voices for Parents & Carers
Time: 12.15pm to 13.30pm
Date: Every Wednesday during term time
Location: Charlton Park Academy
About: Every Wednesday during term time at Charlton Park Academy Guided by a fantastic choir leader who is a professional Soprano and loves to lead community choirs. We are “all abilities” which means you just need to enjoy singing!
Singing combines being with other carers, having a laugh, expressing yourself in a song and de-stressing. You’ll also receive valuable professional musical tuition to make the very best of your voice. Just drop in. No need to book!

Event: Parents & Carers Craft Group
Date: Every Tuesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
Location: Charlton Park Academy
About: In these sessions parents and carers share their craft skills and make lovely items. We then sell these items to help raise money for the annual school prom which is held every summer. We’d love to see you, so come and learn a new craft or share your own craft skills!

Event: Parent & Carers Coffee Mornings
Date: Every Wednesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
About: Get to know other Charlton Park Academy parents and carers. Please join Sara Johnson at Charlton Park Academy every Wednesday morning during term time for a chat, and a cup of tea or coffee.
Please note: Coffee mornings will return on Wednesday 7th January 2026. We hope to see you there.

Event: Yoga for Parents & Carers
Time: 1pm to 2pm
Date: Every Thursday during term time
About: Please come along and join us for our weekly yoga for parents & carers session. Yoga supports positive wellbeing and mental health. We’d love to see you there.
