CPA Significant Change Application Survey For Parents

Charlton Park Academy (CPA) is currently running a statutory consultation exercise as part of our submission for a Significant Change application.

Currently within Greenwich, there is a strong need for additional primary SEND places. Since 2012, our school has provided high quality, secondary education to students with various types of SEND designations, including:

·         Specific Learning Difficulty

·         Speech, language, and Communication Needs

·         Autistic Spectrum Condition

·         Moderate Learning Difficulty

·         Severe Learning Difficulty

·         Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty

Given our current SEND expertise and demand, we are consulting to increase our age range capacity to include the primary phase of education, which will allow us to diversify our educational offering in order to meet the needs of children aged 4-11. In particular, we hope to support children with ASC and those with learning difficulties, which has experienced the most significant increase in demand for additional specialist places within Greenwich. This initiative will allow us to educate a larger number of students with SEND locally within Greenwich, decrease pressure within the mainstream sector, and reduce the need for lengthy travel and costly out-of-borough commissions.

Expanding our age range to provide primary education for students will require the PAN number of CPA to increase by 24, bringing the total school capacity number to 244.

Our consultation process began on midday on Friday the 18th of October and is expected to end at midday, on Friday 22nd of November. For further information, please visit our school site.
