We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our school community! Charlton Park Academy’s Laura Parker, CPD Coordinator (ECT/ITT) & Curriculum and Assessment Lead has been appointed as a member of the Education, Research, and Journal (ERJ) Committee of the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teachers. This is a fantastic opportunity for her to contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning, not only within our school but across the entire education profession.
What is the Chartered College of Teaching?
The Chartered College of Teaching is a highly respected professional body that supports teachers in their mission to deliver the best possible education to children and young people. It focuses on empowering teachers with knowledge, research, and professional development opportunities. The College is committed to raising the status of teaching and ensuring that teachers’ voices are central to decisions that shape the future of education.
What Does This Role Involve?
As a member of the ERJ Committee, Laura will be working alongside other education professionals to:
Promote Education and Research: help develop ethical research frameworks and ensure that valuable teaching practices are shared widely through publications such as professional journals.
Support Teachers and Learning: contribute to shaping the strategic direction of teaching by identifying opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and improvement in education.
Advocate for Teachers: ensure that teachers’ voices are heard and that their professional expertise is recognised and respected.
Champion Diversity and Inclusion: play a role in ensuring that education is inclusive, equitable, and reflective of the diverse communities it serves.
