Consultation

We offer consultation sessions for school staff, either individually or in groups, to provide advice and guidance around students experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.

Consultations can help staff to:

  • understand the reasons behind a student’s behaviour and identify effective ways to support them
  • strengthen partnership working with parents and carers
  • consider whether a referral to specialist health services may be appropriate
  • explore how a student’s behaviour may affect staff and identify ways to manage these feelings.

If a student is already receiving support from Tier 3 CAMHS, we encourage staff to contact their care coordinator. Brief consultations can also be used to provide advice and information about who to contact if there are concerns.

Consultation Appointments

Grace Masterson attends Charlton Park Academy every Friday during term time. Consultation appointments with Grace are arranged through Sara Johnson to ensure bookings are coordinated effectively.

Meetings can also be arranged with parents and carers. These can be requested by parents through the school and will always take place alongside a member of school staff to support clear communication and joint working.

Consent forms must be completed before any consultation takes place.
