Dear Parents and Carers
Take a look below at events and activities for our pupils in December 2025.
Charlton Park Academy will break up for the Christmas holidays on Friday 19th December.
We look forward to welcoming our pupils back to school after the holidays on Monday 5th January 2026.
Throughout term time we look forward to welcoming parents and carers for coffee mornings and craft mornings.

Event: Sunshine Day
Date: Wednesday 10th December
About: Sunshine Day coincides with Human Rights Day so our pupils will be learning about human rights.
Human Rights Day is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the fundamental rights and freedoms that all individuals are entitled to, regardless of their nationality, gender, race, religion, or background. It serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding human rights and addressing issues related to social justice and equality.
Event: Christmas Jumper Day
Date: Thursday 11th December
About: We ask our students to come in their favourite Christmas jumpers or bright colourful clothing to help celebrate the festive season.
Event: Christmas Market
Date: TBC
About: Our Key Stage 5 pupils will be holding a Christmas Market at school. They will be selling craft items that they have made themselves.
We ask that all our pupils bring a small amount of money to school so that they can buy a craft item or two to give as Christmas presents.
This is a great work experience opportunity for our pupils. The money raised will go towards the end of school prom held at the end of the school year in July.
Craft items our pupils have made themselves include:
- West Silvertown Class – Christmas gifts
- Woolwich Class – Picture frames
- Charlton Class – Snowman decorations
- Maritime Class – Wooden Christmas decorations
- Holland Park Class – Christmas cards
- Falconwood Class – Bracelets
- Plumstead Class – Picture frames, wooden coasters & keyrings
Event: ‘Postive Eye’ sensory stories
Dates: Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th December
About: Our pupils will listen to sensory stories from ‘Positive Eye’. The stories are designed to engage our pupil’s senses and support their learning through real objects and activities.
Event: Christmas Dinner Day
Date: Wednesday 17th December
About: Our students will be feasting on a delicious traditional Christmas dinner of turkey or quorn and vegetables. We will also be visited by Santa and his Elf!
Event: Winter Wonderland
Date: Thursday 18th December
About: We will be holding our annual Winter Wonderland. We ask students to come dressed in their favourite winter outfit or costume. We will have a wonderful ‘Winter Wonderland’ experience with Ana and Elsa from ‘Frozen’.
Event: End of Term Disco
Date: Friday 19th December
About: We are holding an End of Term Disco for our pupils at school. We will have a DJ playing all our favourite disco songs. Our pupils are invited to wear their favourite clothes to dance in.
Event: Parent Craft Group
Date: Every Tuesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
About: In these sessions parents and carers share their craft skills and make lovely items. We then sell these items to help raise money for the annual school prom which is held every summer. We’d love to see you, so come and learn a new craft or share your own craft skills!
The last craft group for the Autumn Term will be on Tuesday 16th December. Then we will have a break for the holidays. Craft group will return on Tuesday 6th January 2026. We hope to see you there.

Event: Parent & Carers Coffee Mornings
Date: Every Wednesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
About: Get to know other Charlton Park Academy parents and carers. Please join Sara Johnson at Charlton Park Academy every Wednesday morning during term time for a chat, and a cup of tea or coffee.
Please note: The last coffee morning for the Autumn Term will be on Wednesday 17th December. Then we will have a break for the holidays. Coffee mornings will return on Wednesday 7th January 2026. We hope to see you there.
