Important Dates in October 2025
Dear Parents and Carers
We have some great activities planned for our pupils in October 2025.
We also looking forward to welcoming parents for coffee mornings, craft mornings and choir throughout the school term.
The Half Term Holidays will fall Monday 27th October till Friday 31st October.
Our pupils will return to school on Monday 3rd November.
Below are important dates to remember.
Event: Black History Month
Date: October
About: October is Black History Month. The theme is Standing Firm in Power and Pride. There are some great resources to help celebrate here:

Event: National Poetry Day
Date: Thursday 2nd October 2025
About: National Poetry Day is the biggest mass celebration of poetry in the UK. It’s a chance for our pupils to share in the pleasure of poetry. This year’s theme is play. Our pupils will be listening and reading poems in the library.
Event: LSEC Bexley college coffee morning
Date: Monday 6th October
Time: 10 – 11 am
Location: Charlton Park Academy
About: LSEC Bexley college will be coming to Charlton Park Academy to meet with parents. Their coffee morning events provide a fantastic opportunity for parents/carers and potential learners to understand what studying at the Outstanding Nido Volans Centre is like. We will talk about the facilities and discuss the available course pathways. Our staff will outline specific admissions requirements, detail the learner support systems in place and answer any questions you might have regarding transitions and learner-specific needs.

Event: Sunshine Day
Date: Wednesday 8th October 2025
About: World Mental Health Day falls on Friday 10th October and our pupils will be celebrating on Sunshine Day by participating in wellbeing activities.
Event: Flu Vaccination
Date: Friday 10th October
About: This NHS immunisations team are coming back to school to continue flu vaccinations. If your young person has already been seen you will have received an email stating this.
Event: Safeguarding Police Visit
Date: Thursday 16th October

Event: Parent & Carers Coffee Mornings
Date: Every Wednesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
About: Get to know other Charlton Park Academy parents and carers. Please join Sara Johnson at Charlton Park Academy every Wednesday morning during term time for a chat, a cup of tea or coffee.
Event: Parent Craft Group
Date: Every Tuesday during term time
Time: 10am to 12pm
About: In these sessions parents and carers share their craft skills and make lovely items. We then sell these items to help raise money for the annual school prom which is held every summer. We’d love to see you so come and learn a new craft or share your own craft skills!
