Family Support Worker

Sara Johnson is the  Family Support Worker and School Counsellor at Charlton Park Academy.

She is here to offer a range of support to Charlton Park Academy families as well as facilitating regular parent/carer groups, organising training and workshops.

‘In my role I support students with regards to mental wellbeing strategies which extends to supporting staff when there is a need. I am a trained school therapist with years of knowledge and experience in relation to CBT, psychodynamic and person centred therapy. My background is working with trauma and abuse along with attachment and mental health awareness. Staff at Charlton Park Academy benefit from the work I do with students such as ASD and ADHD training – thinking about ASD/anxiety/behaviour (physical, emotional, psychological and environmental factors) and how these impact on students within the classroom.’

We run regular parent and carer groups throughout the school term including a craft group, coffee morning and choir. Find out more about them here.
