Hot Weather Next Week (6/07-10/07)
Dear Parents and Carers,
We expect school to be open as normal next week.
A yellow heat-health alert is in place for London from Saturday 4 July to Wednesday 8 July but potentially this may be for longer.
We will keep checking the weather and will update you if school arrangements need to change.
Most classrooms at CPA do not yet have air conditioning. Some school transport may also be very hot, especially on longer journeys.
In school, staff will help pupils stay as safe and comfortable as possible. We will encourage drinks where this is right for each child, use cooler spaces where we can, reduce busy movement and physical activity, and follow medical and care plans. Please make sure we have the most up to date plans.
Please think carefully about your child’s health and journey if it is over 30 minutes to or from school.
Please make sure your child is very well hydrated before coming into school due to the expected heat.
If your child is more at risk in heat, for example because of epilepsy, breathing needs, feeding needs, medication, mobility needs, or difficulty telling adults they are too hot or unwell, please contact us if there is anything we need to know.
If you feel it is not safe for your child to come into school because of the heat or the journey, please keep them at home and tell us by 8.00am if possible.
Please call Kay Wallace on 020 8249 6844 extension 107.
Thank you for helping us keep pupils safe.
Many thanks,
Mark Dale-Emberton
Principal
