Important dates in June at CPA
Dear Parents and Carers,
We’ve got lots of events and activities coming up for our students in June so please take a look below to see what’s planned.
Throughout term time we run regular parents and carers coffee mornings, craft mornings, choir practice and yoga. We’d love to see you there scroll down to find out more.
We look forward to welcoming our students back to school after half term on Tuesday 2nd June (Monday 1st June is an INSET Day for teaching staff only).
Events & Activities for Students
Event: NSPCC Childhood Day
Date: Friday 5th June
About: Childhood Day is the NSPCC’s national day of action. It marks the importance of child protection and celebrating every child’s right to grow up safely, supported and heard. It blends awareness-raising with practical activities.
Event: Creative Arts Week
Date: Monday 8th to Friday 12th June
About: Our student will be involved in arts and crafts activities throughout the week.
Event: Pyjamarama Reading Day
Date: Friday 12th June
About: We invite our students to come to school dressed in comfortable pyjamas (no slippers please) or comfortable clothing to spend the day reading, enjoying, and sharing stories.
Event: My Money Week / Enterprise Week
Date: Monday 22nd to Friday 26th June
About: Our students will work on their enterprise projects and make items to sell at the CPA market.
Events and Activities for Parents
Event: Communication Works South
Date: Wednesday 24th June
Venue: Charlton Athletic Football Club
Time: 9.15am to 4.00pm
About: Communication Works is an opportunity for the SEND community to come together and see first-hand how our children and young people use assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to access the curriculum and/or communicate. It provides a platform to celebrate their achievements and for them to get seen and be heard. Communication Works gives visitors the chance to see a range of assistive and accessible technology, communication tools, digital strategies and person-centred approaches.
Activity: Parents & Carers Craft Group
Date: Every Tuesday during term time
Time: 10.00am to 12.00pm
Location: Charlton Park Academy
About: In these sessions parents and carers share their craft skills and make lovely items. We then sell these items to help raise money for the annual school prom which is held every summer. We’d love to see you, so come and learn a new craft or share your own craft skills!

Activity: Greenwich Carer Voices for Parents & Carers
Time: 12.15pm to 13.30pm
Date: Every Wednesday during term time
Location: Charlton Park Academy
About: Every Wednesday during term time at Charlton Park Academy Guided by a fantastic choir leader who is a professional Soprano and loves to lead community choirs. We are “all abilities” which means you just need to enjoy singing!
Singing combines being with other carers, having a laugh, expressing yourself in a song and de-stressing. You’ll also receive valuable professional musical tuition to make the very best of your voice. Just drop in. No need to book!

About: Please come along and join us for our weekly yoga for parents & carers session. Yoga supports positive wellbeing and mental health. We’d love to see you there.
