Class Sloane Square
The students have been working really well in Art and have created a Remembrance window display and bonfire collage.
Well done to: Ben, Megan, Allias and Quoc who all achieved grade 7 in their GCSE Art.
Art Teacher, Grant Watson said:
Congratulations to Ben, Allias, Quoc and Megan who have just finished their Art GCSE course. It is amazing to see the fantastic progress they have made over the last 2 years. They have matured into excellent artists and have created some truly inspiring and beautiful art work. They should be very proud of their achievements and I am confident that they will receive very good grades in August.
An enthusiastic student from Class London Bridge wanted to share his enjoyment of his Science lesson today about Living Things. Using a pooter he caught two wood lice and examined them under a microscope before returning them to the garden.
Anthony McGowan at Charlton Park Academy
Anthony McGowan was our guest author for our rescheduled World Book Day.
Classes London Bridge, Notting Hill Gate, Cyprus and Tooting Bec had a great time listening to Anthony talk and read, plus they had a chance to ask questions about his work and life as an author.
Anthony has been shortlisted for the Carnegie medal for his book Rook which, according to our librarian, can stand alone as it is part of a trilogy. The two other books in the trilogy, Brock and Pike, are also excellent and could be a good choice for a class read.
Classes London Bridge and Paddington enjoyed an informal talk by Roisin from Greenpeace. Students learnt about conservation issues, how old you have to be to join Greenpeace, corporate responsibilities as well as what we can do to help our planet.
