What is UKDHM?
UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) is an annual event creating a platform to focus on the history of our struggle for equality and human rights. 2016 will be our seventh year and we have seen a steady increase in interest and activity since we began in 2010.
Disability and Music
UKDHM 2018 will focus on Disability and Music. We want to explore the links between the experience of disablement in a world where the barriers people with impairments face can be overwhelming. Yet the creative impulse and urge for self expression and the need to connect to our fellow human beings often ‘trumps’ the oppression we as disabled people have faced, do face and will face in the future.
